In order to achieve the dark rich colors, I paint on the tile 2 to 4 times with firings in between to embed the paint in the glaze. These are custom consignment pieces, but you can order something similar or customize your own tiles. Because each piece is time consuming, lead time for each item varies. Artwork can be applied to any manufacturer's glazed tile. Tile can be provided by you (which is recommended due to the variance in lots), or the manufacturer and model number can be provided and I can pick it up locally. Due to the transparent nature of the paints, tile with a light to medium shade is recommended. Texture and color modeling can be a wonderful design element. Tile portraying stone has a very nice "aged" look and feel. |
